GTAC is proud to announce a new program.
"GTAC Weight Loss Challenge" Are you afraid to join a gym because your over weight and don't know what to do? You have seen it on TV, now come join our version for a weight loss challenge. During these 16 classes you will become familair with cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights, nutrition and the tools to start your weightloss journey. During the session our focus will be to burn fat and gain strength at the same time! We will have weekly private weighins and challenges to keep you motivated. There will be prizes awarded at the end for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The GTAC Weight Loss Challenge is designed for beginners to build confidence in the gym and in yourself. Seasoned health nuts are welcome too.

Hi everyone, my name is Ryan Heary and I’m the new full-time trainer here at the Grand Traverse Athletic Club. I have been involved in the health and fitness industry since I was 12 years old and have since then spent a lot of my free time studying and staying current with new exercises and nutritional information. I actually starting working out at GTAC in 2006 and left in 2009 to pursue a personal training opportunity at Fit For You, and am now back here to help people achieve any fitness goal they bring to the table. In the past year and a half of my training, I have helped a lot of clients lose anywhere from 20 pounds all the way up 80+. I don’t consider myself to be only specialized in weight loss though, because I have helped clients attain all sorts of goals such as shoulder and knee rehab, athletic sport training, lowering body fat while increasing lean muscle mass, or just as simple as staying in shape and maintaining body balance. Even if your workout seems boring and is getting repetitive, pick up a session with me and learn some new things. Not to mention I’m great with nutrition and can help you with your daily dieting habits. So if your interested in a session, ill be around the gym and am very interested in helping all of you out.
